ICD-10 Implementation
ICD-10
Implementation
ClinicSource is ready for ICD-10 Implementation.
The first thing you want to ensure is that the ICD-10 Implementation Date is present in the Tool-bar. If it isn't, please enter the date in the following format: mm/dd/yyyy. If the implementation date is postponed, please be sure to update this date accordingly.
Next you will add Diagnosis Codes (ICD-9 or ICD-10) into ClinicSource. Do this by selecting the discipline on the left, enter the code number, provide a description of the code and select the version of the code you are entering (ICD-9 or ICD-10). Once entered, click on the Add button.
If you are entering ICD-9 codes to the system, you will notice that there is a ICD-10 Equivalence column to the far right. ClinicSource will automatically populate the ICD-10 code for each ICD-9 code listed as long at there is a direct 1 to 1 relationship. The ICD-10 Equivalence fields which are blank are where you need to select the code you want representing the corresponding ICD-9. The purpose of the Equivalence column is to ensure a smooth transition for billing. If you were to generate invoices with ICD-9 codes on or after the implementation date, ClinicSource will automatically apply the ICD-10 Equivalence on the invoice.
From the Implementation date and after, you will want to make sure that you are using ICD-10 codes accordingly. ClinicSource is pre-populated with an assortment of commonly used ICD-10 Codes, however you may need to add/remove codes.
